Dennis L. Hughes, 77, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Nancy Rascoe Hughes, who survives and the son of Edgar Lee Hughes and Bessie Mae Hooper Hughes, both deceased. He was a member of the U. S. National Guard. Dennis worked as the Service Manager at Melville Chevrolet in Mebane for 24 years before moving to Dick Shirley Chevrolet in 1988. He retired from Dick Shirley Chevrolet in early 2021. He was a member of Union Ridge Church.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include his daughter, Patricia Denise Hughes Ball and husband Stephen of Winston-Salem; Robert E. Hughes and wife Shay of Burlington; brother, Edgar Reid Hughes of Ringold, VA; grandson, Eric Todd Quigley, Jr. and wife Brook of Altamahaw; and great grandson, Raymond Quigley.
The funeral service will be conducted at Union Ridge Church on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Dan Ficklin with the family receiving friends in the fellowship hall from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Union Ridge Church Cemetery.
