Obituary Online notes for Lucy BENTON
Mrs. Lucy Benton Bouldin, 96, formerly of Trinity, currently of Colfax, died June 16th, 2014 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge.
Mrs. Bouldin was born April 24th, 1918 in Wilkes County, a daughter to the late William G. and Viola Shew Benton.
A resident of this area most of her life, she was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church.
In 1942 she married William (Bill) Bouldin who preceded her in death in 1999. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded by a daughter, Jean Dickey; a sister, Mabel Harris; and a brother, Noah Benton.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Juliet Dickey of Manhattan, New York City and Will Dickey and wife Katie of Greensboro; and a son-in-law, John W. Dickey of Greensboro.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church, 7140 N.C. Hwy 62 Trinity, NC 27370. Her grandchildren would like to convey these messages……Juliet states, "Our most beloved Grandma Lucy passed away Monday morning. Many of you had the pleasure of being charmed by her personally or via our stories about her. Thank you so much for all the support and love you have given us recently and over the years. It was always immensely appreciated. She taught me many things: how fantastic a tomato sandwich can taste in the summer, the importance of wearing a slip and the sound a Bobwhite Quail makes. But the most significant lesson I believe was how to be strong, while yet still being a lady. Wear some lipstick ladies today in her honor and men, hold the door open for someone and think of her. Grandma Lucy would love that!" Will states, "What I remember the most was her tenacity and her love for her family. It has definitely helped define the person that I am today. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
