Kenny Hill Rector, 68, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 6, 2020, at his home.
A native of Guilford County, Mr. Rector is the husband of Shirley Jo Sides Rector, who survives, and the son of the late Eugene Rector and Merle Brown Reid, who survives.
Kenny retired from the construction industry, working as a carpenter and heating and air installer.
Kenny was an avid fisherman, gardener and racing fan.
In addition to his wife and mother, Kenny is survived by his two daughters, Susan Welch and her husband, Kevin, of Liberty and Cathy Young and her husband, Brent, of Snow Camp; three grandchildren, Nikki Eldred and her husband, Justin, Emma Welch and Bridget Young Hall and her husband, Johnny; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Eldred, Xander Eldred and Aurora Eldred; three sisters and his beloved dog, Shorty.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Reid.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington from 1:00 until 1:45 PM.
A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Denny Wall.
