George Talbert McKinney

George Talbert McKinney, 79, of Burlington passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 surrounded by his family. 

A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late George Burton McKinney and Leona Powell McKinney and was married for over 52 years to Mary Lou McKinney who passed in 2016. 

George was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from 1966 – 1970 during the Vietnam era.  He retired as a driver for Krispy Kreme and thought the world of his First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church family.  He will be remembered as a hard-working man who loved his family. 

He is survived by his son; Mark McKinney, daughter; Cynthia “Cindy” Love and husband Tony, grandson; Michael Love, sisters; Mary Sue Wright and Lena Mae Lowe and brothers; William Andrew McKinney, Alfred Wilson McKinney and David Burton McKinney as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Keller McKinney, brother-in-law; Gary Keller and his parents; George and Leona McKinney.
 
A Funeral service for George will be held at noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bryan Crotts with the graveside service to follow at Graham Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 11:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
