George David Hill
George “David” Hill, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, at his home.
A funeral service will held on Saturday, December 17th at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church at 3PM with Rev. Timothy James Officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
The committal will follow the service at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
David was born in Caswell county to the late, Alfred David Hill and Annie Elisabeth Ward Hill.
He graduated from Ruffin High School and attended Rockingham Community College, graduating with a machinist certificate. David retired with over 25 years of service from American Tobacco Company. He was passionate about PLS Ministry for troubled young men and is a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church. David was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Most of all He loved his wife and family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley A Hill and Mary H Lovelace.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Hill; children, Tammy McCaffrey (James), Jeffrey Hill (Leslie), and Cindy Linville (David); grandchildren, Heather Wright (Nathan), Ashley Courts (Whalon), Elizabeth Duncan (Ryan), Will Ratledge, Lindsay Chase (Bryan), Ashlyn Paschal, Jase and Ella Hill; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Ray Hill (Brenda), Jimmy Hill; canine companions, Lady and Buffy along with a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt Carmel United Methodist Church at 361 Mt Carmel Church Road, Reidsville, NC 27320 566, George David Hill
