HAW RIVER — Mr. Danny Joe Barber, 48, of Haw River, found "zero", surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., in Greensboro, with Rev. Jeanne Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born in Burlington, April 22, 1961, to the late Garland and Peggy Barber, Danny was a one of a kind individual. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a kind hearted soul who worked hard. He enjoyed restoring cars, loved nature, was a master craftsman, great skater, and liked to travel. Danny was a philosopher and wonderful story teller. His dedication and loyalty to his friends and family even spilled over into his work. He was employed by TCDI for ten years and took pride in his position. He was a passionate dog lover and will be missed by his two faithful Pekinese companions, Bruiser and Bandit. Danny was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Barber and his aunt, Sylvia Neal Stuart.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Susan Barber Bright and her partner Bill Johnson of Greensboro; special niece, Cortni Denny; his life-partner, Brenda Truitt of the home; daughter, Christa Barber; cousins, Vicki Byrd, Nicki Byrd, Micki Lou Langley, Richard Neal, and Patrick Neal.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who helped with Danny's care and special thanks to Penny Apple and Susie Glazebrook.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon, January 30, 2010, at the funeral home, from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, and other times at the home of his sister, Susan, 3906 Dover Park Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
