Dale Edward Crutchfield, 74, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 51 years to Sandra “Sandy” Summerell Crutchfield who survives.
Dale retired from GE after many years and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. He attended Grace Bible Fellowship with his wife. Dale was a street rod enthusiast and a member of NSRA. He enjoyed meeting with his street rod buddies at Zacks and Jimmys. He enjoyed softball and in later years working out at Winner’s Gym. Dale was #1 for 39 and over in BMX racing and enjoyed the sport for several years. He and his wife loved to shag dance together. Dale was devoted to his wife and family especially his granddaughter “Izzy”. He loved his dogs, “Kramer” and “Biscuit”.
Dale is survived by his wife, Sandy S. Crutchfield of the home; son, Chris Crutchfield of Atlantic Beach, granddaughter “Izzy” and a niece, nephews, grand nephew and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Gertrude Baker Crutchfield.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Ken Harman with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors by the US Army.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
