Mrs. Virginia Teague Kimball, 90, of 7913 Sylvan Road, died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at 4:27 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of 73 years to Kyle C. Kimball, who survives, and the daughter of the Rev. York Teague and Alice Mae Teague, both deceased.
She retired from Burlington Industries, the J. Spencer Love Center and also worked for Burlington Hosiery. Virginia was a member of Cane Creek Friends Meeting and the Hackney Reece Missionary Circle. She was secretary of the Friendly Sunday School Class, clerk of the Ministry and Counsel, treasurer of the Auxiliary and a church choir member. Virginia held offices with the United Society of Friends Women. She loved to quilt and cook. Her specialties were coconut pies and chocolate cake.
Virginia loved her family. In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two daughters, Louise Doss, of Haw River, and Estella Stansbury and husband George, of Durham; two sons, Clifton Kimball and wife Faye, of Snow Camp, and William Kimball and wife Wanda, of Siler City; three sisters, Laura Ann Thompson, of Snow Camp, and Martha Leona Rogers and husband Bill, and Louise Wilson and husband James, all of Liberty; three brothers, Franklin Teague and wife Ruth, of Elon, Marion Teague and wife Marjorie, of Liberty, and Carlyle Teague and wife Martha, of Raleigh; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Teague; six grandchildren, Ray Doss and wife Donna, of Burlington, Anna Dickens, of Elon, Angela Leonard and husband David, of Mebane, Michele Stansbury, of Mebane, Nicki Luther and husband Chuck, of Texas, and Chris Stansbury and wife Danna, of Mars Hill; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dwight Teague and Larry Teague, and a son-in-law, Dennis Doss.
The funeral service will be conducted at Cane Creek Friends Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. by Mark Tope, Dale Matthews and Greg Burriss. Burial will follow in The Meeting House Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times, they will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cane Creek Friends Meeting, 719 W. Greensboro-Chapel Hill Road, Snow Camp, NC 27349, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC.
