Obituary Online notes for Maxine HINSON
Maxine Hinson Fisher passed away peacefully at Westchester Manor in High Point, NC, on January 9, 2021. She was born in Norwood, NC, July 28, 1927, and graduated from Norwood High School. She met and married James (Jim) Fisher in Greensboro and attended business school there. They lived in several communities in North Carolina, but lived in Asheboro most recently.
Brought up in the Baptist faith, Maxine and Jim were members of the First Baptist Church Asheboro for many years. They both attended Sunday school and other church events. She enjoyed the senior choir and craft groups. She was a great cook (think "potato salad") and an excellent quilter and seamstress, sewing for both her daughters for many years.
After Jim passed away, Maxine eventually lived at North Pointe of Asheboro for 8 years, one year at Brookdale Asheboro and 1 year at Westchester Manor in High Point. The family would like to thank these facilities for their excellent care and compassion. They also wish to express their thanks, love and admiration for Hospice of the Piedmont which provided 5 years of palliative care, compassion and love. There are too many caregivers to list, but they know who they are.
Maxine is survived by one sister, Myra Hinson of North Pointe of Asheboro; two daughters: Linda Thomas (Hooker) of Colfax, NC, and Margie Lee (Steve) of Raleigh; two grandsons: Charles Rudder, Jr. (Carla), of Raleigh and Jason Thomas of Asheboro; and two great granddaughters.
There will be no visitation due to current health concerns. A private graveside service is planned for January 15 at Randolph Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity or church of your choice.
