Obituary Online notes for “Dot” Dorothy Lynete McKINNEY
Dorothy Lynete McKinney Hodges Rudd

On the 9th of November at about 8:40 pm Heaven gained another faithful servant in the form of Dorothy McKinney Rudd (aka "Dot").

She leaves behind her daughter in law Gloria Dean Hodges, grandchildren Fredrick Bryan Hodges and Mark Anthony Hodges (and his wife Robin Crumpton Hodges) and Nicolette Star Hodges Torres (and her husband Stephen Torres), and 4 great grandchildren Bryan Tyler Hodges, Taylor Grace Hodges, Althea Torres and her newest addition Alexandria Lynn.

She was predeceased by 2 sons, 6 siblings and 2 husbands, including truly the love of her life Thomas Hurley Rudd.

My grandmother elegantly graced this world for over 94 years. She was truly a woman of faith and she was truly dedicated and faithful to all she loved. She was faithful to God first, then family and friends, and The Yanceyville Drug Co. for 30 years or so. She was stubborn, opinionated and 100% set in her ways, and I mean set in stone in her ways. But, she genuinely had a true heart of gold. She would give help whether it be time or money to anyone. At times she was kind to a fault but you could always depend on her when you needed her, no matter the circumstance. She also loved her flounder from the Mayflower, the mountains of NC, and anything, and I mean anything that had sugar in it. She will be missed more than words could possibly describe but we are all so, so thankful for all the time and memories we have with my G ma. I know she is running around Heaven right now with the love of her life, her Hurley, and all the family and loved ones that have gone on before her. We love and miss you G ma but you will live in our hearts and memories forever.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday November 12, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Ruffin, NC, with Reverend Mac McDowell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Swicegood Funeral Service is respectfully serving the Rudd family.
470, Dorothy Lynete “Dot” McKinney Rudd
