Obituary for Richard Willard King

Richard Willard King, 87, formerly of 2852 Hwy 158 West, Yanceyville, N.C. 27379 went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, Va. He had been in declining health for several years.

Mr. King was born in Caswell County, N.C. on November 24, 1927, a son of the late Albert Ingram King and the late Sallie Aldridge King.

He had lived all his life in Caswell County where he had retired from farming due to health reasons.
He was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
Mr. King served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the Caswell County American Legion.

He was married to Billie Jean McKinney King who predeceased him in 1997.

He is survived by five daughters, Scarlet K. Williamson and husband George of Reidsville, N.C., Linda K. Burg of Yanceyville, N.C., Deborah K. Henson of Commerce, Texas, Terrie K. Wilson and husband William of Elon College, N.C., Rhonda Hill Cochran of Prospect Hill, N.C. and one son Richard Wayne King and wife Teresa of Pelham, N.C, by one brother Thurman “Baby” King of Yanceyville, N.C, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one brother Hansford “Son” King.

A Graveside service will be conducted Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Rev. James Smith, Jr.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 – l: 30 p.m. at Wrenn-Yeatts Yanceyville Chapel.
Wrenn-Yeatts Yanceyville Chapel is respectively serving the King family.
