Denise Helen Chandler, age 62, ascended to heaven on January 19, 2016 after a 6 month battle with cancer.
Denise was a lover of Jesus Christ and friend to everyone she met. She didn't have much but everything she had she gave away to those in need. She was passionate and faithful, igniting a fire in those she came across. She was a beautiful person and great example of what sacrificial love looks like. Everywhere she traveled she got involved in the local churches, often attending or leading bible studies. She was also passionate about fishing, NASCAR, southern food, and always had plenty of fun stories and jokes to tell. We will miss her terribly, but her legacy will continue through her lineage. Love endures.
Denise was born in New Bern, NC to her parents Jack Chandler and Annie McKinney Chandler of Reidsville, NC. She raised her children on the Outer Banks of NC and retired in Charleston, SC.
She is survived by her children Alanna Swiatkowski (Jonathan), Joshua Wood (Shiloh), Jon Wood (April), Jesse Wood (Mindy), Callie Wood (Justin), 16 grandchildren, siblings Anna Sadler (Budgie), Becky Hollen (Bill), Rachel Jacobs (Terry), 3 nieces, 5 nephews, 7 great nephews and 5 great nieces 470, Denise Helen Chandler Duke
