Donald “Donnie” Edward Loy, 80, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 after several years of fighting cancer.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Judy Kanupps Loy and the son of Richard Loy and Margaret Dickens Loy, both deceased.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Cone Mills with 40+ years of service. Donald was a member of the Mall Club Walkers, the Breakfast Club, and Gym Club. He was also a member of Burlington Baptist Church on Webb Avenue.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Loy and wife Monica and Donald Loy and wife Shannon, all of Burlington; four grandchildren, Dustin Loy, Shay Turner, Shania Loy, and Savannah Loy, all of Burlington; one great grandchild, Caydence Humphrey; two fur grand pups, Jake and Paco; sister, Deborah Loy of Burlington; and two brothers, Bobby Loy and Ervin Loy, both of Burlington.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 1:15 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
