Obituary Online notes for “Neca” Perneca PATTON
Mrs. Perneca Patton Waggoner, 65, of Dimmitt, died at 4 p.m. Saturday in Taylor Clinic in Lubbock following a lengthy illness.
Her body was transferred to Dennis Funeral Home in Dimmitt for services and burial. Services were Monday at the High School auditorium. Arrangements were by Rix Funeral Home.
Mrs. Waggoner was born in Hopkins County, Texas, September 28, 1896 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Patton. She moved with her family to Wilbarger County in 1905.
Parneca Patton and Edward Waggoner were married in May 1911. To this union were born three children. Mr. and Mrs. Waggoner moved to Castro County in 1924 where they resided in the Cleo Community until 1933 at which time they moved to Dimmitt. She was a member of the Church of Christ since youth. Her husband preceded her in death in 1960.
Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: Wade Carroll, Glenn Williamson, Kenneth Becknel, Jess Pharis, Larry Gamblin, Eddie Winston and Harold Waggoner.
Survivors are a son, Euless of Dimmitt; two daughters, Mrs. C.J. Fowlkes, 103 Ave. U, Lubbock; and Mrs. Rex Carrell, 2619 36th St., Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Drue Baggett, Harold; Miss Maude Patton, Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Ed Patton, Chico, and C.L. Patton, Hugo, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
