She was a member of Upper Laurel Baptist Church and united with Skyland First Baptist Church when she lived on Royal Pines Drive in South Buncombe. She used her gift of teaching that God gave her to be an active Sunday school teacher until her illness. She was a homemaker, excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilts by hand. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Her price was far above rubies. (Prov. 3:15) KJV.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by an infant son, Allen Lane; two sisters, Carolyn Ballard and Ava Lee Carter; and a brother, Raleigh Ballard.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Van D.
