MINEOLA - John Scott Banks, 50, of Mineola passed away in Tyler on May 29, 2011, after a sudden illness.
He was born May 10, 1961, in Longview and had lived in Mineola all his life.
Survivors include his mother, Maxine Banks of Mineola; and brother, Bryan Banks Sr. of Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his father, Duke Banks. John served in the U.S. Army for four years and attended Tyler Junior College and LeTourneau University.
Memorial services are pending. Arrangements are with Covenant Cremation Center of Tyler.
