Obituary for Robert Stephen Kennedy
Robert Stephen Kennedy, age 64, of 908 Mt. Carmel Road, Sparta, NC died Friday, January 18, 2013 at his residence.
He was born October 2, 1948 in Wilkes County to the late McDale and Iva Mae Caudill Kennedy.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Julia Ann Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Greene Kennedy of the home; one son, Barry Kennedy and wife Amy of Jonesville; two step-daughters, Tracy Billings and husband Gabriel, Jessica Scott and husband T.J. all of Sparta; three step-grandchildren, Trinity Billings, Jerimiah Billings and Kinzie Scott; one sister, Joan Kennedy of Sparta; one aunt; Eula Hauser of Sparta; three nephews, Aaron Halsey, Brandon Halsey and Taylor Halsey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bobby Norman and Elder Alvin Dixon officiating.
Burial will follow in the Kennedy Cemetery in Sparta. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted by Piney Creek Masonic Lodge No. 432 and Sparta Masonic Lodge No. 423. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Kennedy Cemetery Fund, c/o Carol Kennedy, 647 Turkey Knob Road, Sparta, NC 28675.
