John William Saunders Sr., 82 of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in the LewisGale Hospital – Pulaski.
Born in Pulaski on Dec. 19, 1928, he was the son of he late Ruth Pagan Saunders and Clarence Garnett Saunders Sr.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Ellen Saunders.
He was a retired employee of Wade's Grocery in Dublin. He served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Annie Saunders; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Rex Gallimore; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Dottie Saunders, Dan and Robin Faust, Charles Martin and Bill Martin; brother and spouse, Clarence and Rhee Saunders Jr.; grandchildren, Joseph Gallimore, Adam and Christine Gallimore, Chris Saunders, James Saunders and several more; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Freeman and Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Friday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski. 470, John William Saunders Sr.
