Obituary Online notes for Katherine H. WOOD
Katherine Mason, of 24 Misquamicut Hills, died Wednesday at Westerly Hospital. She was the wife of William B. Mason.

Born in Ettrick, Va., a daughter of the late Henry and Jessie (Heritage) Wood, she lived in Westerly for 35 years.

Mrs. Mason was a graduate of King College, Bristol, Tenn., and received degrees in laboratory and X-ray work from Oaklahoma University Hospital. She was a member and secretary of the town Conservation Committee in Westerly for 10 years.

She was a former president of the YMCA Garden Club and a member of the Westerly Historical Society. She was a corporator of Community Health of Westerly, a member of Central Baptist Church and the Circle 2 Leadership at the church. She was active in the Hospice Society of Southern Rhode Island, Meals on Wheels and was a member of Sokvabek Reading Club. She was a player with the Square and Compass Bridge League for many years
