Arvenia (Willis) Parrish, 83, of Gaffney, SC, died Thursday, January 11, 2001, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg, she was the widow of James Talmadge Parrish and daughter of the late William McKinley Willis and Kate (Waldrop) Willis.

She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Fellowship Church.

Surviving are a son, James W. Parrish of Gaffney; a daughter, Mona Kaye White of Gaffney; a sister, Margaret Pender of Gaffney; two brothers, Jennings Willis of Clinton and William Willis of Spartanburg; 13 grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 18 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her children John Parrish, Glenn Parrish, Wayne Parrish and Elaine Simmons.

Services were held Sunday, January 14, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship conducted by the Revs. Mike McConnell and William Willis. Burial was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Harold Phillips, Brian Phillips, Dewayne Parrish, Eddie White, Bryan McConnell and Timmy Childers.

Memorials could be made to Trinity Fellowship, 4281 Old Georgia Hwy., Cowpens, S.C. 29330.
