With great sadness the family of Fred Kennedy in his 84th year announce his passing on Saturday January 2, 2021.

Beloved husband of the late Joyce Kennedy (2005). Loved dearly by Lynne Gaze, his loving companion and dear friend. Loving father of Steve Kennedy (Marilyn) and Shelley Kay (Mike).

Cherished Grandfather of Jennifer (Ryan), Clint (Candis), Rob (Alyssa), Mike (Lisa) and Nicole. Great-Grandfather of 6.

Survived by sisters Gale Wood (Ken) and Linda Gray (Garry), sisters-in-law Barb Pattinson and Cathy Mallinson (Bill). Survived by brothers-in-law Archie Neil (Vera) Dave Maclean, Barry Agner and Jim Howgego (Linda). Will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Freddie and Thelma Kennedy, Father and mother-in-law James (Florence) and Kay Howgego. Sisters Barbra Catton, Patsy Neil and Darlene Maclean. Sisters-in-law Shirley Julian and Marilyn Agner. Brothers-in-law Fred Catton and Jack Pattinson.

Fred and Joyce were owners of Kennedy's Country Store in Thorndale for many years before retiring and moving up north. Fred was a long time Thorndale Mason and Lions member. He loved spending his summers up at the trailer in Bayfield. Fred had a huge heart and would help anyone in need. He will be truly missed for his infectious smile.

The kindness, compassion and care he received by the ICU staff at University Hospital, our family will be forever grateful. As per Fred's wishes, there will not be a funeral, cremation has taken place. An interment will held sometime in the spring at the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery outside of Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
