BILLINGS, Douglas Delano, 80, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Letcher and Beulah Billings; and brother, Ronald Billings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn; sons, John (Amy) and Scott; grandchildren, Natalie, Michael, Daniel, Chelsea, Grayson, Ainsley and Gracyn; siblings, Norris Billings and Susan Lowman; and a dear friend, Tyler Scalone.
He retired from Dupont after more than 25 years of service to begin a career in real estate. Douglas was a past president of the Enon Optimist Club and the Enon Athletic Association. He loved coaching football and baseball.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 11, at Enon Church of God, 900 Enon Church Rd., Chester, Va. 23836. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn. 38148.
