GIBSONVILLE, N.C. - Joyce Thomas Apple, 74, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. She was the wife of the late Elza Junior Apple.
Joyce loved animals and she trained and showed dogs for many years. She also had a special companion, her parrot named "Bart". Joyce enjoyed gardening and especially growing flowers. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her aunts, Marjorie Willett and husband, David of Asheboro and Kitty Lee of Culpepper, Va.; uncle, Bobby Bolton of Rock Hill, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Bailiffe of Gibsonville and Dorothy Lee Apple of Burlington; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her mother, Eloise Bolton Thomas.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Gibsonville City Cemetery by Eric Rudd. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 p.m., prior to the service, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
