Obituary Online notes for Oscar Curtis SHEETS
MARION -- Oscar Curtis Sheets, 75, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Francis Marion VFW Post 4667, where he served in the Honor Guard. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 132 for 36 years and of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Frances P. Sheets; a son, W.C. Price Sheets of Doylestown, Pa.; two daughters, Patricia A. Snow and Dawn S. Toms, both of Roanoke; a brother, Odell Sheets of Marion; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Seaver-Brown Chapel. Pastor Eddie Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery with full military rites by Francis Marion VFW Post 4667.
Among survivors are a daughter-in-law, Pam Sheets of Doylestown; two sons-in-law, James Snow and Willis Toms, both of Roanoke; grandchildren, Emelee Snow and Jordan McKinnon; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Sheets of Marion.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in Seaver-Brown Chapel.
Mr. Sheets was preceded in death by his parents Wiley Gordan Sheets and Fannie Faw Sheets. A sister Pansy Viola Sheets, and brother Carl Sheets. 470, Oscar Curtis Sheets
