GREENSBORO -Troy Lee Trexler, 91, passed on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.
His funeral will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 20, at Forbis and Dick, North Elm Street Chapel conducted by the Rev. Mark Norman Vickers.
Troy will be interred in Forest Lawn Cemetery next to his wife of 45 years, the former Katie Cobb.
Troy was born in Guilford County on May 4, 1916 to the late Dora and Jules Trexler. He was one of 12 children.
He resided in Greensboro until his enlistment in the military on September 11, 1943.
He served in the Army Air Corps and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1965.
He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed golf, basketball, football, (he was a Washington Redskins fan.) He also enjoyed coin collecting. He was a member of the Military Officers' Association of America, and the American Legion. He was a member of Beachpoint Church, of Fountain Valley, Calif.
Troy Trexler is survived by a daughter, Patricia Kunz and her husband, Richard, of Fountain Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Mildred Brady of Salisbury, N.C., and Amber Martin of New Carrollton, Md.; three granddaughters, Jill Bray, Lisa Kendrick, and Kelly Kunz; five great grandchildren, Jessica Kunz, Brandon Bray, Paige Bray, Rebecca Kendrick, and Katie Kendrick.
His current wife, Euna Mae Bunn Trexler, of Arlington, Va., also survives him. 470, Troy Lee Trexler
