Grace Trexler Brooks, 84, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverend Ralph Webb. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brooks was born on June 2, 1920, in Guilford County to the late Julius and Dora James Trexler. She was retired from Cone Mills, White Oak Plant, with 36 years of service. Mrs Brooks was a very active member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Brooks, son CDR David C. Brooks, brothers, Floyd Trexler, Julius (Bunk) Trexler, sisters, Beatirce Trexler, Artice T. Johnson and Elizabeth T. Wright, great-granddaughter, Kendra Smith.
Survivors are children, Paul and Kathy W. Brooks of Greensboro, Clyde and Penny F. Brooks of Greensboro, Ronald and Rose B. Brooks of Emerald Isle and Elizabeth Ann B. and Otis Smith of Burlington; brothers, Troy Lee Trexler of Fountain Valley, California, Carnard Trexler of Greensboro; sisters, Mildred T. Brady of Salisbury and Amber T. Martin of New Carrollton, Md.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.
