Mrs. Sarah Jester, 80, widow of Thomas Jester of Gaston, died early yesterday morning at Ball Hospital. She was born in North Carolina and had lived in and near Gaston for 50 years. Mrs. Jester was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the New Corner Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. M.F. Burke, Mrs. J.C. Walton and Miss Viola Cable and three brothers, Grover, William, and A.P. Cable, all of Burlington, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Stephens funeral home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the Rev. C.C. Wischmier, pastor of the Gaston Methodist Church, in charge. Entombment will be in the Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 o'clock Friday afternoon.
