Joseph MacLean Fletcher

Raleigh, North Carolina - Joseph "Joe" was born in Burlington, NC, son of Edmund A. and Ruth Walton Fletcher.
Joe was a life-long Methodist, beginning at Front Street Methodist Church in Burlington, NC. He was a boy scout and achieved Eagle Scout.
Joe graduated from Walter Williams High School, class of 1963 and went on to graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and Speech. He spent the summer of 1965 in the production of The Lost Colony in Manteo, NC. Joe also participated in Civil War reenactments during the Centennial.
Joe moved to Raleigh, NC and joined Sears where he spent 22 years in management and later as a kitchen and bath designer. He was also an 18 year member of the Neuse River Valley Model Railroad Club.
Joe had a passion for Genealogy, tracing his ancestors to their 1652 landing on the James River.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary E. Fletcher, and their three children, daughter Virginia Fletcher Meehan and her husband Art, of Willow Springs, NC, son John R. Fletcher, also of Willow Springs, NC and daughter Susannah M. Fletcher and her fiance Chad Franklin, of the family home in Raleigh, NC.
Cremation service is being provided by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 23 at 2pm at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, on Six Forks Rd. in Raleigh. 470, Joseph MacLean Fletcher
