Michael Cobb McKinney

Michael Cobb McKinney, 75, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Monday, July 4, 2022.  He was born in Rockingham County to the late Benjamin Franklin McKinney and Hallie Mae Cobb McKinney and was married for 56 years to Patsy McKinney who survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended St. Mark’s Community Church.  Michael worked for glass companies his whole life and ended up as the owner and operator of West End Glass.  After retiring, he enjoyed driving a Bio Bus for Elon.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who truly enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Patsy McKinney; children, Lisa Bixby (Dave), Lori Allred (Doug), Mike McKinney II (Kristy); grandchildren, Nicholas Howe (Ashley), Zachary Pickett (Hana), Kaleb Pickett (Ariel), Jared Pickett (Aurora), Hunter Bixby, Jaclyn Buckner (Nate), Devin Allred, Matthew Allred, Sara McKinney and fiancé Kyle, Stephen McKinney (Jennifer), Hallie McKinney and fiancé Allen; sister, Meryle Harrison (Robert) and Ronald McKinney (Vickie). 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Rogers and Keith McKinney.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2022 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Tommy Fargis.  The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:30 Friday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Community Church 1230 St. Mark’s Church Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
