Patricia Ann McKinney Tucker
February 24, 1937 — January 4, 2024
Gibsonville

Patricia Ann McKinney Tucker, a beloved member of the community, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 24, 1937, in Guilford County. Patricia was a Godly woman, a devoted wife and mother, and a humble individual who always prioritized taking care of those around her.
Patricia was born and raised in Guilford County, where she attended Gibsonville High School, graduating in 1955 as the valedictorian.  She worked hard all of her life at home and as a bookkeeper in the textile industry for many years.  She was such a valued employee, they even called her back to work after her retirement.
Patricia's life was marked by her unwavering faith and her commitment to her church. At the young age of 14, she started attending McLeansville Baptist Church where she later joined and remained a faithful member until her health no longer allowed her to attend.  She was a Sunday School teacher as well as a member of the Ladies Helping Hands group that visited members of the community during their time of need.  Her dedication to the church community was felt by all who knew her.
In addition to her strong devotion to religion, Patricia possessed a warm and social personality that made her a true social butterfly. She had a special talent for making people feel seen and loved, never missing an opportunity to reach out and extend kindness. Patricia had an incredible memory for birthdays and would never fail to make a phone call or send well wishes to celebrate those she loved on their special day.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, S. Rainey Tucker. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.

She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and kindness through her children: Sheila Tucker Peace and husband Dale, Charlotte Tucker Gray and husband Carey, and Sammy Tucker; grandchildren, Clint Gray, Austin Gray and his wife Jessie, Trampas Gray and his wife Crystal, Casey Tucker Collins and her husband Brandon, Allison Tucker Sides and her fiancé Bryan.  Great grandchildren; Charlee Jo, Colby Hayes, Jackson Taylor, Eli William, and Emmett Wayne Gray, A.J., Kasen, Braelynn Collins, Rauri Sides, and special neighbors that she considered grandchildren; Cheyenne, and Raylan Maness, brother; Bill McKinney and his wife Linda, as well as her sister; Brenda Loftis and her husband Bobby. Life-long friends Peggy Whitaker, Shirley Smith, Pauline Somers, Jean Summers and Dani Newell.  Patricia's family extends far and wide with numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors who cherished her presence in their lives.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; Willie Gray "Doc" McKinney and Lillie Mae Kernodle McKinney and her brother; James "Little Brother" McKinney.

A funeral to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at McLeansville Baptist Church by Preacher Mike Barnette, Brother Bill McKinney and Pastor Jimmy Bledsole, with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.
