Cathy was born on March 7, 1963, to the late Frank Smithey Jr. and Lois Smithey in Rockingham County. She was a kind, giving, loving person who had a good heart and cared for people. Cathy will be remembered for her outgoing, friendly personality and her ability to make friends with anyone she met. Cathy loved animals, music, art and was well known for writing beautiful poetry that she gave to family and friends. She loved her family and the Lord more than anything and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Long; stepfather, Jasper Roy Minor; sisters, Patricia Davis and Lisa Smithey.
She is survived by her son, Jules Long; daughter, Trisitian Long; brother, Frankie Smithey; niece, Tabitha Smithey; nephews, Eric Davis and Kirk Smithey; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family. 566, Cathy Denise Long
