Obituary Online notes for Walter Wayne SILVIUS Jr.
Walter Wayne Silvius, 93, Lenexa, KS passed away September 8, 2017. Wayne was born March 16, 1924 in Cameron, MO son of Walter Wayne, Sr. and Edna (Ellis) Silvius. He graduated from Paseo High School, attended KU on a football scholarship. He enlisted in the Army in 1942. While in the Army he served as a Radar Technician and Corporal in England during WWII. When he returned from the military, Wayne attended MU where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Wayne married Louise Catherine Schrick on October 7, 1950 in Effingham, KS. Wayne was a home builder in the KC area for 30 years. Then he acquired farmland in several places, where he raised cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Edwin Silvius. Wayne is survived by his wife Louise Silvius, sister Louise Davies, nieces, nephews and extended family. The family wishes to thank the providers at DelMar Gardens and Ascend Hospice for their compassionate care. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascend Hospice, 783 NE Anderson Dr., Lee's Summit, MO 64064.
