Obituary Online notes for Kathleen Burke HOWARD
Kathleen Burke Howard White age 98 passed away in her home Monday, December 28, 2020. She was born August 6, 1922 in Pineville, Kentucky to John J. and Jane Howard.
Kathleen attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tenn. where she met her husband of 77 years Ralph White.
Kathleen and Ralph moved to Panama City in 1952 from Lexington, Kentucky. Together, the two of them created and owned West Florida Printers located on Harrison Ave. until retirement. Kathleen used her talents by volunteering her time and giving in various ways, to family, friends, church and community. She performed in the Gulf Coast Community Orchestra playing the violin under director, Prentiss Melder in 1978, gave to the Salvation Army sewing doll clothes for children at Christmas, and was a member of the Garden Club the first couple of years after moving to the area. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and served wholeheartedly as the choir director, adult Sunday School teacher, Missionary President and Board Member at different times for several years. Kathleen enjoyed cooking for family gatherings or potluck church dinners. She enjoyed visits from her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her family remembers her as being a hard worker, having perseverance, and being strong in her faith.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, John and Jane Howard, her brother Pal Howard, her sisters, Faye Mullins, Delores Goodin, and Pauline Parrott Huff. Her spouse Ralph D. White, her children, David Lynn, Patricia Ann, John Conley, and Pal Leslie White.
She is survived by her children, Beth (Barry) Tarpley, Jeffry (Maria) White, her grandchildren, Lynn Webb, Kim Houston, Traci White, Travis White, Brandon Tarpley, Brooke Brunner, April Loyle, Katie Sneigoski, Chris, Foster, Saylor White and Savannah Pham, 12 great grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside ceremony 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Evergreen Memorial with Pastor Scott Roberts officiating. In Lieu of flowers, you may donate to Kathleen’s church, First Church of the Nazarene at 3610 W. 17th Street, Panama City, FL 32401; website is pcnaz.church/giving/.
