MANTEO -- Elizabeth 'Betsy' Dinwiddie Haugh, 47, died April 16, 2003 in her residence.

Betsy was born in Elizabeth City and lived most of her life in Manteo. She received her B.S. degree from Berea College and graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and was a member of the Roanoke Island Volunteer Fire Dept. She served as a former church administrator for Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church.

She was the daughter of Laura Johnson Dinwiddie Tillett of Wanchese and the late Rev. Frank Dinwiddie and was the wife of Robert L. Haugh of the home.

Besides her mother and husband, surviving are a daughter, Kathryn Haugh; two sons, David Haugh and William 'Will' Haugh; two sisters, Virginia Zdanski and Agnes Blanchard, all of Manteo; and two brothers, Frank Dinwiddie of Manteo and Howard Dinwiddie of Greensboro, N.C.

A funeral will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Manteo Baptist Church by the Rev. Clinton Hardee and the Rev. Jim Southern.

Burial will be in the Manteo Cemetery.

Friends may join the family at Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo, Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Haugh Children's Trust,c/o East Carolina Bank, Manteo, NC 27954. (The Virginian Pilot [Norfolk, VA] - April 17, 2003) 470, Elizabeth 'Betsy' Dinwiddie Haugh
