Obituary Online notes for “Polly” Pauline COLE
GREENSBORO - Mrs. Polly Cole Allred, 93, of Greensboro Place, formerly of Granville Street, Burlington, died at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 6:55 p.m. after several years of declining health.
A native of Kellogg, Idaho, Mrs. Allred was the wife of the late Johnie H. Allred and the daughter of Larkin Cole and Addie Apple Cole, both deceased. She was a retired employee of Kayser-Roth and was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Allred was an avid quilter and seamstress.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Martha Allred Cline and husband Quentin of Julian; one son, Gary Allred and wife Linda of Liberty; two grandchildren, Patricia Allred Gaydon and husband Doug and Jessica Shoe and husband David; five great- grandchildren, Bradley, Jackson and Britain Gaydon, Johnathan Allred and Noah Shoe; and one sister, Betty Brown of Greensboro. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence of the daughter, Martha Cline, 4448 Old Julian Road, Julian, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
