MCLEANSVILLE- After almost a year of longing to be with her beloved husband, Minnie Ruth Loftis went home to heaven Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Guilford Memorial Park and her grandsons will be pallbearers.

Mrs. Loftis was a kind and sweet natured lady and she loved to please others. She spent most of her 80 years loving and taking care of her family. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. She always looked forward to visits from the ladies in the Senior Ministry and also to watching videos of the church services.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years William Silvo Loftis.

She was a wonderful mom to five surviving children, daughters, Ruby Johnson and her husband Elwood of Brown Summit; Joyce Brown and husband Bobby of McLeansville; sons, Jeff Loftis and wife Carolyn of Eden; Buddy Loftis and wife Connie of McLeansville; and Johnny Loftis of Easley, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Watson of Greensboro; Peggy Dawson of Gibsonville; and Brenda Brown of McLeansville.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church on Thursday and other times at the home of Joyce Brown, 5513 Greenridge Dr., McLeansville, N.C.

A special thank you to all the caretakers and Hospice nurses who made it possible for the family to keep Mrs. Ruth comfortable in her home.
