GREENSBORO - Doris Shaw Ball, 79, went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2011.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday April 1, 2011 at Lakeview Memorial Park.
She was a former resident of Kure Beach, retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Herman Ball. Doris was a member of Camp Herman Baptist Church in Browns Summit. Doris was born in Alamance County to the late James L. and Hattie Shaw
Surviving are, Children, Ralph Ball (Brenda), Pam Harrelson (Tommy), Randy Ball (Lynnette) and Nancy Pruitt (Dale). Grandchildren, Shawn Ball, Christy Schorr, Tonya Burton, Chad Harrelson, Derek Pruitt, Nicole Wright, Sarah Robinson and Justin Ball. Doris has 10 great-grand children, a Loving brother Jim Shaw and (Margot), Burlington.
The family will receive friends on Thursday March 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Forbis Dick Funeral on N. Elm St.
The family would like to give special thanks to her favorite nurses at Heartland Rehab Nursing Home, Melissa, Shawana, Jennifer and Chris, and also a special thanks to the staff on the South Hall for their caring and support.
In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405.
