Vallie Hughes Wagoner, 98 passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Peak Resources in Graham.  

Vallie was born on July 8, 1925 to the late Jesse James Hughes, Sr. and Flora Andrews Hughes.

Vallie was married to the late Robert W. Wagoner for over 26 years.
 
Vallie was proud to be a homemaker and her greatest accomplishment was her children. She was a former member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and she attended Riverside Baptist in her later years. Vallie enjoyed fishing and trips to Bugs Island with her family. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for her banana pudding. She enjoyed Zack’s hotdogs, chicken biscuits from Wendy’s, ham biscuits  and a BBQ sandwich with a slice of tomatoe once a week. 

She is survived by her daughter; Juwana R. Summers and husband, Scott of Burlington and her sons, Kevin W. Wagoner and wife, Bonne of Graham, Charles J. Wagoner and wife, Martha of Graham and Ted J. Wagoner and wife, Linda of Burlington; grandchildren, Chris (Melissa) Radabaugh, Lisa Allen, Kevin Isley, Jessica (Jon) Riechert, Robert Scott Summers, Shannon (Nicholas) Cobb, Cindy Hubert and Amanda Rose (Ryan) Windley; great grandchildren, Emilee Allen, Christopher Allen, Parker Radabaugh, Wyatt Radabaugh, Callie Riechert, Woodrow Riechert, Greg Cobb, Ryan Cobb, Brodie Hubert, Kevin Sheffield and Ella Rose Windley; great great grandson, Connor Sheffield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter, Robin M. Wagoner; her sisters, Helon Vest, Annie Pearl Baird and Irma Jones; her brothers, Harold Hughes and Jesse James Hughes, Jr.  

  A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 2PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Eric G. Rudd and a private burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. 

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Authoracare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care for their mother.
