Catherine Gray Hoyle Michael, 94, of Burlington, NC passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024 at her residence.
A native of Vance County, she was the wife of the late Paul Winfred Michael and the daughter of the late Ernest E. Hoyle and the late Mary Faulkner Hoyle. She was the former owner and operator of Party Sales and Rentals for over 40 years. Always going above and beyond, Catherine was known for weddings and church decorations as well as her famous pound cake and cornbread.
She was a longtime member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church and more recent, a member of Hope Church Senior Class and Choir.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Sheree Hoyle Roberts; son, Jeffrey Shannon Michael (Meg); grandchildren, Alexander Gray Michael, William Christopher Michael; Amber Nicole Banks (Michael) and Adam Michael Roberts; great-grandchildren, Piper Banks and Beau Banks; and brother, Rev. Bobby Hoyle (Kay).
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Tate, Bertha Mullins, Ruth Qualls and Dorothy Robinson; and brothers, Paul Hoyle, Alfred Hoyle, Wheller Hoyle, Henry Hoyle, Edward Hoyle, Vernon Hoyle, Rev. Robert Hoyle, Rev. Earl Hoyle and Rev. Beacham Hoyle.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Dr. Garry Baldwin and Dr. Hugh Hoyle.
The committal service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service.
