Johnny Ray Bridges, 73, of Princeton died Sunday, November 10, 2019 at The Maples in Bluefield, WV.
Born November 5, 1946 in Princeton he was the son of the late John Hugh Bridges and Lula Rose Woodyard Bridges.
Johnny was a retired disabled coal miner having worked for CONSOL Coal Company in their Turkey Gap operation. He was also formerly employed at Ramey Auto. He was a long-time, faithful member of Princeton Church of God on Oakvale Road in Princeton. Johnny loved his family and had many friends. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed cooking.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann Howerton Bridges of Princeton; daughters, Kathy Godfrey Jewell and husband Don of Princeton, and Christy Raeann Fink and husband Anthony of Princeton; three grandchildren, Lindsey Jewell, Justin Jewell and wife Brittany and Jaidyn Fink; one great-grandson, Jase Jewell; two sisters, June Bailey and husband David and Bonnie Chambers and husband Tommy all of Princeton; one brother, Donnie Bridges and wife Karen of Princeton; several nieces and nephews and long-time friend he thought of as a brother, Gary Grim.
A funeral service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Princeton Church of God in Princeton with Dr. Ray Hurt officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Justin Jewell, Kevin Hamm, Michael Bridges, John Mastrandrea, Darrel Howerton, Omar Aboulhosn, Jamie Whitt, and Donnie Tignor serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday (today) at the Princeton Church of God.
