Obituary Online notes for John Oliver WOODYARD Sr.
John Oliver Woodyard, Sr., 83, of Boiling Springs, SC, formerly of Princeton, WV, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at his residence.

Born September 4, 1928 in McComas, WV, he was the son of the late Raymond Clifford Woodyard and Julia Ada (Hampton) Woodyard.

A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Woodyard was retired from Childs Corporation and worked his entire career in Retail Management.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Covenant in Boiling Springs, SC.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodyard was preceded in death by one brother,
Lewis Gale Woodyard (1925-2008); and one sister, Lula Rose (Woodyard) Bridges (1921-1983)).

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Hope Hunter Woodyard of the home; son, John O. Woodyard, Jr. and wife Suzanne of Boiling Springs, SC; and daughter, Kathy L. Comella and husband Chris of Lawrence, KS; sister, Bonnie Jean Romano of Princeton; and grandchildren, Phillip Comella of Moorhead, MN, Kyra L. Woodyard of Boiling Springs, SC, Justin O. Woodyard of Boiling Springs, SC, and Lauren Comella of Lawrence, KS.

Funeral services weree conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Dr. Steve Lilly officiating.

Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Friends were received at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Saturday.

A memorial service was conducted at 7:00 PM, Monday, May 21, 2012 at the United Methodist Church of the Covenant in Boiling Springs, SC with Rev. Dan Blair and Rev. Steve Morgan officiating

Memorial contributions could be made to the United Methodist Church of the Covenant, 9020 Ashville Highway, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
