Obituary Online notes for Lee Dwayne DEAN
Lee Dwayne Dean, 82, died October 19, 2007. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Grover Lee Dean & Susie Mae Dean Long. He was the widower of Mildred Louise Dean and was preceded in death by a brother, Horace O. Long & stepfather, Willie W. Long. He was a member & deacon of Forest Heights Baptist Church and also attended the Moser Sunday School Class & the Senior Saints. Dwayne served with the Gideon's International for many years & was retired from Independent Life & Accident Insurance Company after 35 years of service & was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved his family, his church & most of all his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was known for his big garden. He loved picking & selling the vegetables he grew.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 22, 2007, at 2:00PM at Forest Heights Baptist Church with Revs. Mike Purdy, Bill Long & Dayton Logan officiating. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Janice D. & Thomas B. Marable of Athens; two sisters, Emma Mabry of Pine Mountain, GA & Clara Strickland of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Brian Lee Marable, & wife Shannon of Winder, & Kevin Thomas Marable, & wife Amanda of Athens; four great grandchildren, Deanna Nicole Pruitt, Joanna Kristine Pruitt, Anna Grace Marable & Sara Kate Marable; aunt, Idele Short of Kannapolis, NC; many nieces, nephews & cousins. Pallbearers will be Richard Horne, Jimmy Baugus, Fred Hunt, Billy Pass, Hugh Ingram, & Tim Bare. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Moser Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon's International or Forest Heights Baptist Church Building Fund. Lord & Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
