Ruth Sims Kivett

Ruth Sims Kivett, 93, of Burlington, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.

She was born in Stanly County, NC to the late Ernest Leonard Sims and Irene Lowder Sims and was married 60 years to the late Raymond Edward Kivett.

 Ruth was a longtime member of Burlington Christian Church. She retired from Alamance Community College after 10 years serving as the Secretary to the Dean. Ruth loved her family and looked forward to their many gatherings and annual Emerald Isle beach trips. She was an avid reader, loved to play bridge and excelled at many hobbies that included basket weaving, quilting, and knitting.

 Survivors include two sons, Ray Kivett, Jr. (Sharon) and their sons, Trey and Will. Brian Kivett (Robin) and their daughters, Lindsay Nolte (Cole) and Katherine Caldwell (John), and great grandchildren, Brooks Nolte and Jack Nolte.

Also surviving is her brother, Gene Sims (Anna).

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Leonard Sims.

 A private service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.
