Obituary Online notes for Jean Carol WYRICK
Jean Wyrick Oliver, 82 passed away at her home Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. She was surrounded by her husband and children after a seven year battle with cancer.
Jean was born May 11, 1934 in Guilford County to the late Wesley and Minnie Wyrick.
A graduate of Alamance High school, she was an All County Guard in basketball and received the Civitan Award. She also was voted Best All Around and Most Athletic along with her husband Jack.
Jean was a managing partner of two Edie Adams Cut and Curl Franchises before selling them in 1978 and moving to Atlantic Beach, N.C. In 1987 she went to work with Thomas Simpson Construction as Corporate Secretary until retirement in 2010.
She returned to Greensboro in 2014 to be near her children and grandchildren. Throughout her long illness she never complained and stayed classy. Her kindness and gentle spirit along with her positive attitude will always be remembered.
Jean is survived by her husband Jack Oliver of 65 years, son, Jack Oliver Jr. and wife Terri, her daughter Debbie Andrews and husband Mark, grandchildren, Tara Jones (Thomas), Kimsey Messer, Trey Oliver (Kaci), Johnathan Andrews (Kelli), Great grandchildren, Jacklynn, Paxton, MaKinleigh, Addie, Collins and Carter and one sister Doris Tillman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildren O’Brien, Erma Reynolds, brothers, Ralph Wyrick, Granville Wyrick, Wesley Wyrick Jr. and Clifford Wyrick.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Alamance Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00pm.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
