Dennis was born July 9, 1946, in Iraan, Tx. to Zelma (Eversole) and W.C. McDaniel.
He attended elementary schools in Wall, Christoval and San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1964.
He went on to receive a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
He began his professional career as a regional director for the Heart Association but soon returned to the oil fields of his youth.
A third-generation pumper, he owned and operated McDaniel Pumping Service, taking care of oil wells in Tom Green and Irion counties for 35 years.
