Edward Paul Thomas, 79, surrounded by his loved ones, raised his eyes to Heaven and went peacefully to live with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 9, 2007.
Mr. Thomas was born November 12, 1927 in Chatham County to the late Wade H. Thomas, Sr. and Alene Lashley Thomas.
He was married 60 years to the love of his life, Mrs. Mary White Thomas, who survives.
He was a dedicated and loving family man and a true testimony of his Christianity to everyone he met.
He retired from Byrd's Food Center after many years of service and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife include his five children; Delana Forbes and her husband Steve of Graham, John Thomas and his wife Lisa of Elon, Timmy Thomas and his wife Donna of Pinehurst, Tina Norris and her husband Duane of Graham, and Becky Young and her husband Compton of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Carmen Scoggins, Charlie Forbes, Brooke Guthrie, Jared Thomas, Grayson Thomas, Justin Thomas, Jason McNeill, Amber Norris, and Adam Norris; two great grandchildren, Caleb Thomas and Ava Rose Thomas; five sisters, Doris Thompson of Liberty, Frances James of Burlington, Sally Apple of McLeansville, Sylvia King of Archdale, and Janice Thompson of Burgaw; and a brother, Wade H. Thomas, Jr. of Graham.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.
