DALE CLYMER Obituary

South Carolina, Hilton Head Island -

Dale Warmath Clymer was called home by the Lord, on October 26, 2013, at the Preston Health Center on Hilton Head Island, SC.

She was born in Jackson, TN, on January 11th, 1925, the daughter of the late John Thomas Warmath and Daysie Lee Tinsley.

She grew up in Greensboro, NC, where she attended Greensboro Sr. High. She also attended WCUNC at Greensboro and Converse College in Spartanburg, SC.

She was married to then 2nd Lt. L.M. Clymer, pilot USAAF on February 15th, 1944.

After WWII, as secretary to a department head at Duke University, she worked her husband’s way through college. After his graduation they lived in Nashville and Memphis, TN, where she was very active in church and many charitable activities while also rearing three adopted children and serving as a consistent encourager to her husband throughout his career. In 1985, they moved to Ft. Myers, FL and Linville, NC, where she continued her charitable and spiritual activities. They came to Hilton Head Island, SC in 1996. She was a member of Hilton Head Presbyterian Church (PCA), P.E.O. Chapter X and was a member of the committee which brought Young Life to Hilton Head Island and Bluffton.

She is survived by her husband, Ludwick (Lem) Clymer; two sons, Thomas and Steve Clymer; and a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Lee) Councill; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Hilton Head Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on November 1st, Committal will be at the Columbarium at Banner Elk Presbyterian Church in Banner Elk, NC. In lieu of flowers, contributions made be made to Hilton Head Presbyterian Church, Banner Elk Presbyterian Church or Young Life Hilton Head Bluffton.
