ASHEVILLE: Ruth Shook Rice, 66, of 108 Montford Ave., passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 John F. Keever Solace Center.
She was born in Madison County to the late Junie and Maggie Gentry Shook.
Surviving are her sisters; Shirley Fisher of Black Mountain, Ethel S. Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC, brother, Jimmy Shook of Asheville and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Upper Laurel Baptist Church. Rev. Cline Hensley Jr. will officiate.
