ASHEVILLE: June Shook Melton, 60 of 135 Winston Ave., died Monday, November 26th at Missions Hospital, St. Joseph's Campus.
She was a daughter of the late Junie and Maggie Gentry Shook and is also preceded by six brothers; Clarence, Clyde, Guh, Ebb, Donald and Robert Shook and three sisters; Grace, Ora and Nora Shook
She was a member of Upper Laurel Baptist Church.
Surviving is two daughters; Barbara Melton (Homer) of Asheville and Tammy Padgett of the home, sisters; Ethel Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ruth Rice of Asheville and Shirley Fisher of Black Mountain, brother, Jimmy Shook of Asheville, granddaughters; Brooklyn Melton of the home and Grace Arrington of Asheville, grandson, Walter Grady Arrington, Jr. of Asheville.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, November 30th at Shook Cemetery, Mars Hill. Rev. Eb Jenkins will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Thursday at Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill. 470, June Shook Melton
