Stella Chandler Shook
Burnsville – Stella Chandler Shook, 87, of Fox Creek, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Madison Manor Nursing Facility.
A native of Yancey County, she was the wife of the late John Shook and daughter of the late Lee and Ella Morrow Chandler.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lois Chandler and Barbara Shook; sister, Ada Shepard; brothers, Nelson, Bill, Fred, Gus, Paul and Robert Chandler.
She was a longtime member of Ivy Gap Baptist Church, of which she loved very much.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Sandy Chandler of Mosheim, Tenn.; grandson, Jerry Chandler and wife, Renee, of Burnsville; greatgrandchildren, Jason and Briana Chandler, Chase Martin, Adasha and Danya Doan, and Johnny Council; brother, Raymond Chandler of Mars Hill; sisters, Cilla Foxx and Ida Robinson of Mars Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chandler Cemetery 470, Stella Chandler Shook
